Windows Server : Configuring TS Remote Desktop Web Connection

TS Remote Desktop Web connection is a feature of TS Web Access that allows remote users to connect to a remote desktop, taking full control of the remote system instead of just accessing the remote applications (see Figure 1).

To configure TS Remote Desktop Web Access:

1.
Open the Internet Explorer browser.

2.
Type http://server_name/ts (in this exercise, win-kn3t0cfzmmv. syngress.local/ts).

3.
Click on the Remote Desktop link.

4.
Under the Connection Options provide the Computer Name or IP address of the Terminal Server.

5.
Choose from 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024, or 1600x1200 pixels for the Remote desktop size.

6.
Click on Options to see other options available.

7.
Choose the Devices and resources you want to use in the remote session (options are printers, clipboard, drives, supported plug-and-play devices and serial ports).

8.
Choose Additional Options including Remote Computer Sound (Bring to this computer, Leave at remote computer, Do not play), Apply keyboard shortcutsPerformance (Slow modem (28.8 Kbps), Fast modem (56 Kbps), Broadband (128 Kbps – 1.5 Mbps), and LAN (10 Mbps or higher).

(In full-screen mode only, On the local computer, On the remote computer), and
9.
Option for a legal disclaimer (I am using a private computer that complies with my organization’s security policy) check box is available.
